Carol A. Lawyer is a Certified Addictions Counselor, Co-Occurring Disorders Professional and Board Registered Interventionist who maintains a Private Practice in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Carol’s commitment in the field of Addictions keeps her focused on helping individuals move from crisis to opportunity.
Guiding individuals and families towards enrichment, empowerment and self-confidence, Carol enables individuals and families to embrace a healing process. This process helps move them towards self-esteem in order to build a foundation that will afford the individual an opportunity to make choices and decisions leading to a consciously happy lifestyle.
With more than 15 years of experience both in Private Practice and working in conjunction with facilities who specialize in Addiction Treatment, Carol understands the necessity and immediacy that Addiction Treatment requires. The life gripping circumstances that surround unhealthy lifestyles; whether substance abuse, gambling, sex addiction, eating disorders, etc., Carol is equipped to provide a treatment process that will enable the individual to let go of the pain and dysfunction of a self-destructive lifestyle and move forward.
Having completed the Addictions Program at Penn State University in 1992, Carol received her CAC from the State of Pennsylvania Certification Board in 1996 and her CCDP in 2004. Carol then became a Board Registered Interventionist with the Association of Intervention Specialists in 2006 and was elected Vice President of the Board of Directors in 2007.
Carol is a member of NAADC (National Association of Addiction Counselors), Member of the Association of Intervention Specialists, ProAct and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars from Penn State University.
Guidance in finding the appropriate treatment facility is important to insure the most effective outcome. Carol works with Treatment Centers locally, regionally and internationally. Carol is affiliated with the Caron Foundation Network of Counselors and in 2002 received the Unsung Hero Award. Dedication, commitment and success define Carol's work in the field of addictions.
